The ceiling box is where the builder put it. ELIO puts the light where you actually want it.

Three glass shades hang on cables that run out from a single canopy to swag hooks you fix into the ceiling. You place the hooks, so the pendants land where the light should be rather than where the wiring happens to end.

The tinted glass goes back to mid-century lighting, when smoked and amber glass was used to soften a bare bulb. ELIO keeps that idea. Clear, topaz and graphite in one fixture, hung on slim black cords, so the same bulb reads warm through the amber and cooler through the smoke.

Because the glass is transparent, the bulb is part of the design. Edison-style filament LEDs are what this fixture is built for. The warm coil stays visible through all three tones and does most of the work at night.

Spread reaches 157 inches and drop reaches 82 inches, both set during installation. It suits kitchen islands and dining tables, and works well over a staircase where the shades can be stepped down in line with the stairs.

Why people choose this fixture:

  • Pendants hang where you place the swag hooks, not where the box is
  • Three glass tones, clear, topaz and graphite, in one fixture
  • Built for Edison-style filament LED bulbs
  • Steps down a staircase, each shade set to its own height
  • Single canopy, one junction box, no new wiring
  • cUL listed, stocked in Canada, 2-year warranty

Frequently Asked Questions

Which bulbs look best in it?

Edison-style filament LEDs. The glass is transparent rather than frosted, so the bulb is visible and becomes part of the fixture. A warm filament coil looks intentional through all three glass tones. Go 2700K for a warm glow. A plain frosted bulb works too if you would rather the bulb stayed quiet, but you lose most of what makes this fixture look good.

What bulbs does it take, and are they included?

Three E26 bulbs, not included. Max 15W LED per shade, which is roughly the equivalent of a 100W incandescent, so three shades give you around 300W worth of light.

My ceiling box is in the wrong place. Can I offset the lights?

Yes. Only the canopy connects to the junction box. Each shade hangs on its own cable that runs out to a swag hook screwed into the ceiling wherever you want that light to fall, so you can position the group properly without moving any wiring.

Can I use it over a staircase?

Yes, and it is one of the better fixtures for it. Each cable is set to its own length, so you can step the three shades down in line with the stairs rather than hanging them level. The swag hooks let you place each one over the tread you want it above. Maximum drop is 82 inches from the ceiling to the lowest shade, so measure your stairwell before ordering.

How does the cable and swag hook system work?

Each light hangs from its own cable running out of the central canopy. You decide where each shade drops by screwing a swag hook into the ceiling at that point, and you set each shade's height by how much cable you feed through. Both the spacing and the heights are decided during installation, so plan your layout and mark the hook positions before you mount the fixture.

What are the exact dimensions?

Maximum spread is 157.48 inches (400 cm) and maximum drop is 82.68 inches (210 cm) from ceiling to the bottom of the shade. Both are set at install. The complete fixture weighs 2.5 kg. Most people spread the three shades across 4 to 6 feet over a dining table, tighter over an island, or stepped down the run of a staircase.

What colour is the glass?

Three tones in one fixture: clear, topaz (a warm amber) and graphite (a cool smoke). Because the tones differ, the same bulb reads warmer through one shade and cooler through another.

How high should I hang the shades above the table?

Around 28 to 34 inches from the tabletop to the bottom of the shade is standard for dining. Lower feels more intimate, higher spreads the light more broadly. Because each cable is set independently, you can also stagger the heights.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, with an external dimmer switch or dimmable smart bulbs. There is no integrated dimmer in the fixture, so you can use whatever system you already have. If you are on a wall dimmer, make sure it is rated for LED loads.

Does it need one ceiling box or several?

One. All three lights run from a single canopy, so there is no extra wiring or additional junction boxes.

Is it approved for Canadian electrical code?

Yes. cUL listed for both Canada and the US, so it passes inspection and won't cause issues with insurance or a home sale. Made in Poland by TK Lighting.

Do I need an electrician?

The canopy connects to a standard ceiling junction box, so if you are replacing an existing fixture many people handle it themselves. The swag hooks screw into the ceiling and need to hit a joist or use an appropriate anchor, worth checking before you commit to hook positions. If you are installing from scratch, working over a stairwell, or moving the box, use a licensed electrician.

How do I clean the glass?

Turn it off and let the bulbs cool first. A dry microfibre cloth handles dust. For marks, a barely damp cloth and a dry buff. Don't spray cleaner directly at the fixture, spray the cloth.

How fast does it ship?

Ships from our Mississauga warehouse. 1 to 3 business days to Eastern Canada, 4 to 6 to Western Canada. Free shipping over $149.

What is the warranty?

2 years from date of purchase.

What if it doesn't work in the space?

30-day returns on uninstalled fixtures. Send it back within 30 days of delivery in its original packaging, uninstalled and unmodified. Once installed, it's no longer eligible for return.
